Babies Room

Some of you may remember back in January I bought a lot of fabric to use in our little baby girls' room.  Well.  I know that it is now March and I can say I finally got it done.  Now, another thing to remember is that I am not, I repeat not a seamstrist.  In that post back in January I admitted my envy to my sister and a old school friend.  ( I had to pay my friend (Tara) to pass Home Ec for me).  I am very proud to say that through a lot of sitting at the kitchen table hoping the material would somehow sew itself together, I finally finished it.

My mom refinished the rocking chair for us and gave it
to us while we were in SB last month.  We registered for
the stencils at Babies R Us. Thanks Duvalls :)

I totally don't deny that I stole the idea of drapes/curtains
for her closet from my friend Sarah.  She has got to be
the craftiest, talented seamtrist I know.   I still haven't
decided how I am going to have them hang.

I have to give props to Brian..... He put in the new shelf
and rod along with painting the closet :)

Yes.... Our baby girl already has a car.  It's crazy.  It's
a bouncer plus a walker.  Brian had to buy it.

I started with the bumper back in January thinking I
was not going to have her room all pink.  But,  after
adding the crib skirt, her quilt and curtains.... It's nothing
but pink.

We were so excited when one of our friends
called us about 6 months ago when she found
this changing table/dresser at a yard sale.  It
was such a steal!
Shortly I will use more mod podge and add her name
to the blocks.... any guesses?

It's Volleyball Season

Wow!  I can't believe it's already time for volleyball season.  Why?  Well that means that the school year is closer to ending.  Which means that I will soon have a Sophmore..... Oh boy.... Anyhow.  We encouraged Vincent to go out for the volleyball team at his High School.  Might as well.... Like I said, the school year is almost over.  We are proud to say, he did make the team.  They only have a JV and a Varsity.  He did make JV.  He won't be a starter this year but he will get some playing time his coach said.  Which, hey, for his first year, we are more than thrilled!  Yesterday was their first game.  He will be busy since they have 2 games a week until the beginning of May.

Sorry, pictures are not that great with
my phone.  I can never keep it still.
There is our boy!!!!!
More pictures to come as the season
progresses!  GO EAGLES!

AZ Baby Shower

Wow!  As some of you know we went to SB to visit our families and my sisters hosted a baby shower for me.... Well..... Really?  I don't know how this happened but I am truly blessed to have the BESTEST Visting Teacher (Peggy, you are still in a league of your own) and some over all really really great friends here in Arizona.
Last Wednesday night I ventured over to my friends house and can I just say;? The spread was beyond imaginable.  My visiting teacher not only did her visiting for the month but for my sake, the century! I had the best of all worlds.  A professional party giver, a professional photographer and a professional caterer!  What more could a pregnant woman ask for?
The pictures really tell a better story than I can.... SO, Here we go:

To die for centerpieces
Smore's bar
Salads, bread, fruit, more salads and my favorite bread
and more bread :)
The bestest caterer, Gourmet Girls, Hilari
Hot Chocolate bar

little shout out to Jenna..... She is amazing.
This young girl made our baby this quilt.
Now, that is talent!
I can't believe that this was not even a week
ago and I have already gotten bigger and dropped!
Time is flying by!
I have to say thank you to everyone.  Everyone that came and everyone that went beyond over the top to make this special night happen for us.  It was beyond amazing.  The Nelson's are truly blessed.  We are so glad to be in this area.  This is a night that we will never forget.
When I say we, not only did the baby girl and I have the time of our lives but Brian did also..... My poor husband who has to works nights was the happiest ever to come home to a table full of yummy yummy food......

Even more Improvements

For the past 9 months I have talked about our improvements to our house..... Well... It really does seem like that is all we do.  I am usually doing things inside the house while Brian, Vincent and friends are working on the outside of the house.  I luv my husband so much I keep posting about the outside.  Bless his heart.  He works so hard (along with friends) out there I have to give him a pat on the back.  So.... Here is the latest.

Our poor dogs.  We had to build a fence to keep
them out of the area Brian has been working on.

Last Friday the "trench guy" came out bright and early
and started using a very odd looking and loud machine.
I am really grateful that it was less to have him do it than
for Brian to rent the machine and do it himself.  What
a gnarly machine.

Saturday morning..... let the work begin.  Brian had
two friends from church over along with Vincent and
to put in the sprinkler system.

Brian was so happy to put the "system and wires" under
ground.... I guess it will help out when it's time to mow
the lawn....

I know it's hard to tell but YEAH.... We have a working
sprinkler system... I know.  It seems odd.  But really...
When you take a look back at the archive posts and what our middle yard looked like before we even started this whole process........ Oh.... What a sweet joy it is to have working sprinklers.  The only thing left before Brian seeds the ground is the RV/Boat parking.  Yup..... My husband is making sure he gets to have a place to park either of them.  Which ever comes first! He is counting the days and watching all the weather reports.  Hoping that it will warm up for the ground tempature to be at least 80... After that.  14 days and we will see some grass.  :)

Valentines Day Santa Barbara

Last month the three of us made a quick trip to Santa Barbara.  My wonderful sisters hosted a baby shower for me with all of my Santa Barbara friends and family.  It was so much fun.  My sisters are so much fun and so creative!

A table full of amazing treats.  Including my favorite
little candies Sixlets :)

I was so excited to get my own "clothesline" full of
baby clothes. My sister has done it for years.

And more food.......

My Sisters were so creative and put all of my presents
inside the wheel barrow and had me sit in my present
from my mom.

Diaz Family :)  (yes.... I am WAY pregnant)

Yeah...

Sorry Kara and Amanda.  I tried to rotate the pic
but it wouldn't let me?

Our niece Aliyah :)

We were excited to end our trip with a visit to Ventura
to spend time with Brian's sister, Brother in law his
two nieces.  (sorry, only one is available for showing.
Our other neice was being fed and is covered up by the
Hooter Hider)
It was a wonderful quick trip.  We were able to see a lot of friends and family we haven't seen in a very long time.  Kudos to my wonderful sisters for the fantastic job they did.  That Saturday is a day to remember.  We will never forget it.  Thank you to everyone who was able to make.  Sorry we missed some of you.  Until next time. :)
