Easter

Easter weekend was so much fun at The Nelson's Nest. We started the weekend with grandma Linda coming into town on Thursday night. Friday mid morning Roger, Lisa, Isabel and Kaitlyn all arrived from Santa Barbara. It was a fun, crazy busy weekend. Vincent went with the Young Men in the Ward to Pima for the Annual Boy Scout Triathlon and placed 96th out of 1059 boys. We were pretty darn proud of him.... Saturday we colored eggs, went ice skating and had a lot of fun hanging out together. Sunday morning of course we had an Easter Egg hunt for Isabel. Most important Brian blessed Amanda in Sacrament Meeting. As some of you know, Easter Sunday holds a special place in our hearts, even more than normal. (Vincent being ordained, Brian being baptized and ordained both on different Easter Sundays)
It was such a special spiritual weekend with family and friends.

We were so blessed to have both my mom and Brian's mom come and help out with the first couple of weeks. A BIG THANK YOU to Eva and to Linda.... Both helping out with housework, teenager needs and most of all helping us understand a newborn. It's amazing that I have gone through this process before. It seems all so new to me.

Even though Amanda was born on Tuesday, we didn't get to take her home until late Friday afternoon. It was such a hard situation to leave her behind. She was too jaundice for us to take her with us. We didn't want to leave on Thursday afternoon.

Friday afternoon, we were so excited we finally got to

take our baby girl home.

Nurse Annmarie, called us with updates of her progress

while taking care of Amanda for us. She was so

wonderful!

Sunday night, April 3rd it all started with some friends coming over to assist Brian with a blessing for me. (Shout out to The Woods who had spent 8 hours in the car that day and snow boarded the day before) At 8:00pm I had received my blessing and we were ready to head off the Hospital. I was anxious, nervous but oh soooo excited to not be pregnant anymore. Vincent along with one of our neighbors had spent the previous three weeks walking at least 2-4 miles a night with me to help our little one join us. It wasn't working. She was too comfortable where she was. We couldn't believe it. After all of those months of having to make her stay put; she wasn't going to come out now that it was time.
We started the night with a 12 hour balloon procedure. The next morning still nothing.... Finally after another procedure at 2:28 Tuesday morning we met our Amanda Lee Nelson.
