Missing The Internet

I actually thought I would never say that sentence. I guess we can never say never. This lat week has been such an eventful week. Vincent has had Stake Youth Conference this week after work. We were able to get the house ready for move in on Wednesday of last week. Brian started moving the larger items on Thursday morning before his shift that night. I then started with the smaller items latter that night after work. Vincent, bless his heart..... At the Church. I paused this weekend while having a lot of time to myself(really not a fan yet of that)and took a moment to Thank our Heavenly Father. How blessed Brian and are to have a teenager go to work at 5:30 in the morning, go to Youth Conference at night repeat the next day. Then ... Wake up early on Saturday morning to be at the Church half hour early "to get a good seat". I am so Thankful for the Youth Leaders in our Ward and Stake. I do have such a testimony of the impact they can have on our childs life. That Heavenly Father does see to that the Youths needs are attended to. (luv you Peggy!!!)

I am actually typing this Blog post from my phone. So, please excuse the typos. We will not have Internet until Friday.

Thank you to my wonderful Husband who did most of the prep work to move into the house and moving. A special Thank you to our son for being Courageous. We luv you Lil man!!!

Nelson lil Girl

YEAH!  Okay.  Some of you were probably so excited just as I would be when you see lil girl.  But no, we are not pregnant.  I have been looking for a small little cuddle dog for a while now.  It just so happened that Channel 15 News aired a public announcement that all of the Maricopa County Humane Society's are over populated.  They were actually having a donation special.  I couldn't sit still.  All day at work (9-2) and then working on the house it was just eating at me.  I finally told Brian, "well go, look and let's see if there is one that you will match with. What are you waiting for?"  Oh how I luv my Husband.... Vincent and I ventured out to two different Shelters.  Unfortunatley we couldn't find a small dog that needed a home.  I feel so very bad that they were mainly all big dogs.  It saddens my heart.  But we already have a large dog and luv her to death.  So, later that night after all of the painting and exploring the lil place of Del Taco (no bueno for us) we went to PetCo.  They were gone for the day we just missed them.  We were not too late.. The Volunteer called Brian and told what type of dogs they were bringing back.  And this is one of them :)

Thanks to some friends we have named her Payson.  She is a Chihuahua Terrier Mix.  She is two months old and is not suppose to get much bigger.  I just luv having her home with me at nights.  Don't get me wrong.  I most definitley LUV my Rotweiler Raven.  She is our big Family dog.  But Payson is my little one I get to cuddle with.  She is a lot of work but so much fun and of course so adorable.  :)

Paint Paint Paint and more Paint!

As you know we have purchased a different home.  The day we received the keys we started working away on the house.  Brian has been painting everyday and then heading to work that night.  This weekend we were all there working away in the house.  I am ( I am sure Brian is more) excited to say that we are almost done.  There is only one more room that needs the baseboards painted.  Whew!  The Blinds have been purchased and hung and carpet being installed on Tuesday morning.  We start moving in right after the cleaning is done on Wed.  :)  Woo Hoo... Can't wait.  Brian took advantage of Sunday being our lazy day and rested most of the day.   Below are a couple of pictures of our progress.

So? I am a little lost?

I know I am not the only one, maybe I am?  But I tend to look at the list of Blogs that, you all my friends follow.  I couldn't help but notice on several there is a nie nie and a stamp that says I read nie nie.  I read the latest post on that blog about the most admiring Stephanie Nielsen.

My thought is?  Can anyone define to me who or what nie nie really is?  Am I even spelling it right? (I am a little slow... )

Thanks :)

Payson 5th Annual Triathlon

Back in May I never thought that one challenge from Vincent would turn out to be my hobby.  Vincent challanged Brian and I to enter the Payson Triathlon back when he competed in the Pima Triathlon.  I have to admit.  I wasn't to thrilled about the challenge but I took it.  Brian started training for about two weeks and then suddenly ended up working doubles again???  hmmmmmmmm I am still asking myself if he didn't ask for the doubles so he could get out of the training.  We will see in 8 weeks.  (The whole family is now training for another Triathlon) I started training with our friend Nicole during the week and on Saturdays.  On June 11, 2010 Nicole, her husband Chase, Vincent and myself all drove 1.5 out of Phoenix to Payson, AZ.  We stayed in the most interesting hotel.  A place where Vincent tried to make friends with the local cowboys whom were there for the Rodeo that weekend.  I won't repeat the sentence he used to try to make conversation.  Bless his heart for trying to speak spanish...... Oh boy....

Chase was so awesome to pull out my bike that Brian packed for me and checked the tires.

There is so much to get done before a race.

Right before the race all three of us.

Nicole and I right before the race.

Nicole heading for the finish line.

Vincent ran in wtih me for the last half mile to the finish line.

Overall it was such a great experience.  Between waking up in the hotel room at 4:00 am after listening to all the drunk cowboys the night before.  Freezing in the moring becuase we were so high up in the mountains..... BBBRRRRR..... I knew I should have packed better clothes.  Being entertained by lil man and his 14 year old humor.  Being overwhelmed and joyed at the same time.  Finally seeing my husband (whom drove up by himself that morning).  Chase finished in amazing time, Along with Nicole.  I finished with just under 2 hours. I figure for my first Triathlon and having problems with my bike, that's not bad at all.

Thank you to everyone who should luv, support and encouragement.  Especially my most wonderful Husband and Son.
Here we come TRIATHLON IN THE PINES.... SHOW LOW, AZ AUGUST 14, 2010!!!

Memorial Day!!!!

We were so excited to receive an invitation for a BBQ on Memorial Day.  We have become friends with several people here in our Ward.  It has been so wonderful especially during the holidays such as Memorial Day.  I was a little more excited than normal.  It was the first time since Christmas that all three of us have been home on a week day together and didn't have to run errands all day.
After having our own little pool party with our own little family we ventured over to our friends house for a most large, wonderful Memorial Day BBQ.

Now do you realize why I said Most Wonderful... Look at all of that scrumptous food.  WOW!  I was so thankful not only for all of the different awesome food but that I went for a bike ride that morning.... (more calorie intake)

Our Host was ready to get going on the grill..... We stayed far away from the very sharp knife... :)  hee hee

Hanging in the pool.

A highly competitive Water Polo Game?  Hmmm Water Polo or just some Basket Ball in the Pool.  I don't know if I saw any passing.  I think it was more like tackle and try to take the ball away from whomever had it?

I had so much fun... had to chill under the umbrella and relax a while.  The diving board was so much fun.... hint hint Brian. I Think we should get one..... :)  BIG SMILES

Thank you so much to our friends for inviting us along with some other families for a wonderful Memorial Day BBQ and afternoon family fun.  It made such a difference to us since we do not have family here.  It sure felt like we did that day.  LUV YOU!

Another Nelson Nest

Some of you know that we have purchased another home here in Arizona.  Why?  Well this time we can say that we were not involved in a "Double Down" nor a Foreclosure before the closing of the Double Down.  We were involved with a Realtor, Loan Agent and Inspector that all well to put it nicely were not very Trustworthy people.  Unfortunatley we did not find this out until we were long into our home here on 36th Drive in Glendale.

We have now moved about 2 minutes North and 2 minutes East into a four bedroom 2 bath home.  Of course this house still has a Man Cave, Pool and a large Kitchen.  We did not post any pictures of the inside yet.  We have to do some work.  Brian has started painting and we have ordered carpet and purchased blinds.  We are so excited to have a place of our own and not have to deal with moving yet again...... :(

I was excited that there are fruit trees all around the property.  Yeah..... Maybe I can talk my dad into coming and prunning (sp) them.  :)

Its a large corner lot.  We are looking for a landscaper?  Anyone?

I am so excited for our new pool.  I think it's bigger than the one we have now but both the boys keep telling me I am not right???  Yeah!  We'll see when I do those first laps.  I know how long I can go with out stopping and having relief that I have made it to the other side of the pool.  You ALL are welcome to come visit and hang by the pool with us... Hey?!  It's only 105 right now.  According to the locals, that's nothing.  It's perfect weather.

8th Grade Graduation

High School here we come...... Wow!  I really thought that that sentence would be farther away.  But the time has come that "Lil Man" Vincent is now officially entering High School.  Now, which one???  We are not actually sure.  He is automatically enrolled into Barry Goldwater High School but we have him on a waiting list to attend Sandra Day O'Conner High.

We started the afternoon with his favorite type of food.  Sushi/Hibachi. We finally found a resturant that is very similar to Something's Fishy in Santa Barbara.

It was a wonderful place and the service was more than fantastic.

Vincent enjoying his food!!!!!

My yummy Sushi that I was very selfish with. :)  Okay so I offered; but I was so happy when niether of the boys wanted any.

The staff had asked Vincent why he was dressed up so nicely.  He mentioned that it was his 8th Grade Promotion.  The Manager of the Restuarant came over, started playing that large drum while the rest of the the employees sang a song to him.  I have to admit. It was pretty darn amazing.  They all had good voices also.

They even gave him his own little dessert.

We then rushed right over to the High School where they held the Promotion.  Wow.  It was a big event.  It was interesting sitting in the large bleachers watching 350 8th graders wait, line up and be free of school for a small period of time.  As Brian and I sat there thoughts were going through our heads of all the things to come in the next four years.  Oh?!  Are we ready for this?  Whew.... Well even if we are not ready its coming anyway.

It was such a great night.  We are so proud of our Lil Man.  Who pulled off a 3.85 GPA.  We couldn't be prouder of our Freshman.
