Track Team

Vincent has been super busy the last two weeks.  He had an upset with  the baseball team but came back strong making the Track team at his Middle School.  He has been practicing and training hard and is now 4th in the mile.  We are so proud of him for not giving up.
Not only has he been practicing after school everyday for track, he has been participating in the Deer Valley Stake Youth Olympics.  Last week they had 3 nights of 4 Volleyball games and ended the week with WII bowling.  This week he will be working hard with the track team and still participating in the Youth Olympics with a little bit of bike racing and track.  He can't wait.

I started this weekend with a bike ride with a friend from our Ward.  Brian was so great to get up early on his day off, get our bikes ready and get us going to only have me break his toe.  :(  I felt so bad.  For some reason I failed to remember to clip out of my pedals and expected Brian to break my fall.  I am happy to say that our 18 mile bike ride ended up uneventful. We were truly blessed with great weather while the rain did not start until we were on our street.  :)  It was a beautiful way to start the day and motivate me for the weekend.

House news....

We are happy to report that we are in Escrow now.  The bank has "cashed the check" our agent stated.  We are anxiously waiting for a "move in" date and simply can't wait..  There is something about apartment life when you know it could be coming to an end..... UGGGHHH... I think our neighbors are into torturing everyone around them..:)  We can't wait.  We are so excited.

Pass or Fail

As most of you know Brian is now an Instructor for the the Company UTI (Universal Technical Institute) or also known as MMI (Motorcycle Mechanics Institute).  His rotations are in 3 week incriments.  This last Friday he ended his first rotation instructing by himself.  It has been a new road to travel for him not only learning and instructing students but also working doubles.  Starting our days at 5am and ending around normal time of 10:30-11:30 has been quite a transition but one we have learned to adapt.
After reviewing over 110 Final papers and reporting to Corporate.  Brian was able to start the weekend.

President's Day and Valentine's Day Weekend

We started our three day weekend with rush hour traffic on the I-10 in Phoenix.  For thlose of you that don't know... It's pretty much just like being in LA by the 405 on a Friday Holiday weekend. Somehow we managed to make it with out too much trouble.  Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is MUCH larger than the Burbank Bob Hope Airport.  But...... Vincent was all about teaching mom how to be a "cool traveler" in the large universe of luggage and different languages.
After visiting with strangers and having them promise me that Vincent would arrive safely to SLC I departed and ventured back to North Phoenix... Wow...

With out a teenager at home and all the chores pretty much done Brian and I decided to Venture to the East Valley and do some sight seeing.... :)  In the Mall that is.  I do admit and admitted to Brian while in the car and on our way I had a motive.  I finally found one of my Favorite stores Down East Basics in a mall in Chandler.  :)  WOOT WOOT.  I LUV their clothes.  After trapsing through the whole entire mall and it seemed hours later... We finally found my store.  I have to say that I have such a wonderful husband.  We were able to spend the day together with lunch, some shopping and of course the company of each other.  Our first Valentine's Day together was spectactular.

The Nelson's Nest

Brian is so excited (as am I)  he asked me to post some pictures of the new house.  This is the part of the kitchen that I luv for a couple of reasons.  First, there is a tile floor for the entry to the pool, it's SO very large.  For some reason when you have guests over they all end up in the kitchen.  Well, We wouldn't have to worry about that in this one.

Another great feature is the fact that we do not have to upgrade any of the appliances in the house.  Many of the houses we have looked at have appliances older than me.  Now, I know that they last forever most of them.  But when they are missing components, I am a little leary of using them.

Instead of showing pictures of all 5 bedrooms I decided to just show the Master. :)  I am kind of partial to it.  It has a nice size closet and enough room to have Brian's clothes and shoes in there also :)  hee hee..... The bathroom is tile floor with granite countertops.  One key selling point was the shower that is tall enough for Brian to fit under with no adjustments.

Our most exciting feature according to Vincent is our pool.  He says "well it's not large but it sure will do for me and my friends"  We're glad to have bought something that will accomodate Vincent and his social life.  We have no problem asking him if he would like to pay to upgrade our pool to a larger one..... Little does he know, that cleaning our pool will become one of his weekly chores.

And last but not least.... The Man Cave... it comes equipped with a shop sealed floor, cabinets and cupboards all around, a water softener, room for my car and enough room for Brian to call it his MAN CAVE.

We start signing paperwork on Tuesday and will be in escrow.  Our lease is ending in March so the timing works out perfectly.

We are so happy and can't wait to have you all come visit.

"What's For Dinner"

Well the picture quality could be better....

Last night I was rushing a little to make sure dinner was ready right when Brian got home.   I had a motive of course.  I wanted to attend the Pampered Chef party.  But as I look at this picture and think about it???  I was wondering if anyone ever encouters one of the things that I sooo dread hearing???  Has anyone had their significant other, spouse, roommate whatever the situation may be; come home and the first thing they say is "hi, Whats for dinner?"
I couldn't help but laugh last night as Brian came in the door, lil man was on the couch on the computer and you ask where was I?  Of course in the kitchen.... ha ha ha JK.... I make it sound so bad when it's not.  Anyhow, my boys don't say "hi, What's for dinner?" They pose ridiculously, make funny faces along with some not so funny noises, wrestle and goof off.  I realized how last night I am truly blessed to have such fun, goof balls in my life.
Please don't get me wrong.  If that is the first thing that is said when you meet each other at the end of the day and it works.... Well more power and MAJOR kudos to you... If that day ever does come for me I will be calling you to see how to overcome it.
What is the first thing said when you meet at the end of the day?????

Offer Accepted

I am so excited to say that our Agent just called and said that they accepted our offer.  He is on his way over to sign more paperwork.  The inspections will be starting, closure of title from the owners, and of course more checks to write.  We are so excited and hope that this is the house that we will call our Home.. :)

Well even more of an update...... I just signed the paperwork and we will be starting all of the inpsections on Monday.  :)  Some of you asked the address.  It's in North Phoenix in the Deer Valley 1st Ward.  I don't want to put the address on there until we have possession.

This Is It!!

This is it.... We have now put an offer on this home and hope to call this The Nelson's Nest.  This home is actually a little larger and will suit us while we grow as a family.  Oh and when you all come to visit there will be plenty of room.  Brian and Vincent are excited for the pool and of course the Man Cave.  Which I have to admit it is really nice Man Cave.  If that is appropiate to say?  What would be the proper term for a Cool Man Cave?  hhhhhmmmmmm

I have after a long task accomplished finding a job that will work with me and my family.  What an accomplishment... Whew.... I will be working at a high end Salon in the middle of Phoenix.  I am soooo doing my happy dance inside.  WOOT WOOT!  Soooo excited.

Vincent is working on his Merit Badges this week along with practicing his baseball skills and talent.  Deer Valley Jr High is having their tryouts for the baseball team next Monday and Tuesday!  GO VINCENT... :)

I am still interested on what you would call a Man Cave :)

What a weekend... we are truly blessed

It's Monday and I am lazy as ever.  I don't know that I should really admit that?  Why am I so tired???  We started the weekend on Friday night staying up too late watching a movie knowing we had to drive the Ward Scouts to badge seminar by 8am.
Starting at 730 am on Saturday we took a couple boys across town to start their merit badge seminar. We were so excited to go have breakfast just the two of us.  We found a little cafe breakfast/lunch place that totally reminded us of Santa Barbara.  I can't wait to go back.  We were called in the middle of breakfast with this phone call "we were wondering if you would like to come help us help a Sister move?" Okay now really, who is going to say no????  Whew..... Bless her heart the single sister had not started.  We entertained Saturday afternoon by moving a sister in the ward into her storage unit.  It really was a lot of (tiring) fun....
Vincent has decided to try out for the Deer Valley Jr. High (yes we changed his school) Baseball team and we couldn't be prouder.... We decided that helping the Sister move wasn't enough working out for the day so we headed over to the batting cages and spent the rest of the afternoon there.  Me being perfect I of course didn't need any help.  RIGHT :) Vincent was not the only one receiving a lesson.  Finally Brian worked with me and has as I said before FINALLY accomplished the task of having me stand still in the batters box.... For those of you who know me and have seen me play ball know that I can NOT stand still in the batters box and wait for the ball.  I would have to say that both Vincent and myself are AMAZING batters now.  Who knew that my husband was such a great teacher... :)  JK
We ended Saturday evening with some wonderful new friends attending the movie "Extrodinary Measures".  I do recommend the movie.  We went away that night realizing that we are truly blessed in this life and there after.
What a weekend we had.  It was incredibly busy as all of yours and so truly blessed... :)  LuV you All.
